A New Dawn

A new day has dawned in Hungary - a new era has begun today in Budapest.
The first Hungarian Starbucks opened today in the Westend mall, which has resulted in widespread joy and babies smiling all over the world.

Ok, maybe it's not quite that revolutionary that Hungary has now joined almost all of its neighbors in having Starbucks coffee in their country, but hey, at least there is one more thing to spend money on when I go to Budapest :)

  2. I was considering Poland, Czech Rep and Bulgaria neighbors too - although, yea, they are not "next-door" neighbors :)

  3. One more thought - Slovakia and Serbia don't have Starbucks yet, but at least they made it into the World Cup. None of the countries in this region who do have Starbucks made the World Cup. Maybe there is a connection... (i.e.: getting Starbucks is a consolation prize for not being good at football :)

Hopefully you will make it there one day. You could meet a friend there. I heard it is a great place.
