I wish he had said Jesus wants that rose at the end, it would have helped a lot of people.

Nick,Where is Matt Chandler speaking and who is his audience? He refers to his passion for the gospel colliding with the "Church," yet, it sounds to me as if his issue is with a sermon by one pastor. I don't think he's great. His comment about being in conflict with the "Church" may lead non-believers as divided. My suggestion for Matt is rather than calling down the "Church," he should go back and open communication with the Pastor to discuss his concerns, rather than airing them on utube. Next time, Matt should broadcast a message that shares the gospel without trying to slam someone.Mom
Matt Chandler is the pastor of a growing church in Dallas. He was speaking at a conference for pastors and Christian leaders called Desiring God, led by John Piper. He is pointing out where many established churches have failed, and being that he is a pastor himself, he's not against church. I see what you're saying, but I think that he is making an important point by pointing an area where the church often fails to reach out to those who don't know the Lord by condemning them for their sin instead of pointing them to Jesus, 'the friend of sinners.'I think Matt's message did share the gospel. He just used an example of how not to preach the gospel to highlight how it should be preached. Thanks for the comment!
